SHEAFFER'S CENTENNIAL PENS 2013

 
In 2013 the Centennial Pens were made to celebrate 100 years of the Sheaffer Pen Company, designed to honor 100 years since the inception of Sheaffer Pens in Fort Madison and as a tribute to Walter A.Sheaffer and his legacy. A collection of three fountain pens, a Legacy Heritage in Sterling Silver, and two unique pens simply called the Centennial Limited Editions, one made out of 18K Solid Gold and the other Sterling Silver.
 
 
THE SHEAFFER LEGACY HERITAGE STERLING SILVER CENTENNIAL LIMITED EDITION FOUNTAIN PEN
 
The Sheaffer Legacy Heritage Centennial pen was limited to 1913 fountain pens worldwide and made from solid silver, the intricate engraving work was completed in Germany and hallmarked in the UK, at the assay office of London.
 
 
The traditional wide band of the Legacy Heritage is engraved with the pens serial number and the centenary years 1913-2013, the UK hallmark is also stamped on the cap band.
 
The barrel of the Sheaffer Legacy Heritage Centennial features images and signatures of W.A.Sheaffer and his Son Criag Sheaffer.
The cap of the Legacy Heritage Centennial show images from Sheaffer's past, including the American First Choice slogan from 1949, a Sheaffer Snorkel nib unit and a bottle of Skrip Ink. The cap also features the former U.S Headquarters on Avenue H, Fort Madison. The Plow works building was purchase in 1917 and remodeled to house around 100 employees, between 1917 and the late 1930's all of Sheaffer's production took place in the facility. This building allowed the W.A Sheaffer Company to manufacture it's own Gold Nibs, prior to 1917 the company had to ship in the nibs from other parts of the country. In 1952 a new plant was built in Fort Madison and the Plow works building was torn down for parking.

A certificate of authenticity and a commememorative booklet are included with the Legacy Centennial Limited Edition.
 
The pen is presented in a luxurious wood gift box with a lacquered finish in Sheaffer's original red, the interior is lined in a soft cream coloured leatherette material. The normal Legacy 18K white gold inlaid nib is fitted to the Legacy Heritage Centennial.
 
 
 
THE SHEAFFER CENTENNIAL PENS
The solid gold centennial pen is limited to 45 fountain pens, while 516 sterling silver fountain pens were made available worldwide. The gold fountain pen is made from 18K solid gold, and the silver pen is made from solid sterling silver, both are hallmarked in the UK at the London assay office.
 
 
 
A unique inlaid nib unit is fitted to the Centennial Limited Editions, and 1913-2013 is engraved on the nib units metal band.
 
The Gold instrument has a 2mm diamond that replaces the world-renowned White Dot on the clip.
 
The gold and the silver pens have the same detailed relief engraving which showcases significant aspects of Sheaffer's history between 1913 and 2013.
The cap features images and the signatures of W.A.Sheaffer and his Son Craig, and a background of SHEAFFER'S 100 is writen around the cap, while a chain of inlaid nibs decorate the top. The barrel shows images of the former Sheaffer US headquarters on Avenue H, in Fort Madison, that was suituated along the railroad tracks and the great Mississippi river.
 
 
 
The cap band is engraved with the Sheaffer's logo on the front side and 925 Sterling Silver at the back.
The serial number is etched on the bottom of the barrel, while the cap ornament shows the centennial logo in high relief engraving.
 
A certificate of authenticity and a commememorative booklet are included with the Centennial Limited Editions.
 
 
The Sheaffer Centennial LImited Editions are presented in a luxurious wooden gift box with a lacquered black finish and features either silver or gold accents, shown below is the silver accent box which comes with the Centennial Sterling Silver Fountain Pen, the inside of the box is finished in a black leatherette material. The set is completed with a gift box protective sleeve, a black leather pen pouch, two packs of ink cartridges, a piston convertor and a unique bottle of black Skrip Ink, the Centennial logo is printed on the label around the ink bottle and also on the lid.
